Edging slowly into league play, North Rockland defeated Clarkstown North 25-11, 25-18, 25-14 tonight.

North Rockland at Clarkstown NorthTaking control of the court, the Red Raiders seemed comfortable enough on the away court. Setter Karly O’Brien had 26 assists and touched almost every second ball on the Red Raiders side of the net. Keri Perrotto had 10 kills and Keli O’Tuke had eight.

The Red Raiders broke out to early leads in all three games thanks to some impressive serving all around.

Clarkstown North having some fun

Though, the Rams seemed a little disoriented at first but picked up in the second game coming back from a 9-0 deficient. They battled back to bring the game within two at 18-16 but weren’t able to maintain the serve long enough to overtake the Red Raiders.

One thing was certain though, the Rams were having fun.

The Red Raiders’ rivals the Mounties are also undefeated (9-0) after today’s 25-18, 25-19, 23-25, 25-9 victory over Clarkstown South. Jessica Crowley had a big night for the Mounties with 22 digs. Jin Park, the Vikings’ librero had 23 digs.

Clarkstown South and Clarkstown North face off early next week and right now it looks to be anyone’s game.

The Red Raiders and the Mounties will meet next week and perhaps we will finally know who the best team is.
