Koalas climb over the Tigers

September
30

Hey bloggers! I was over at Ursuline today for the match against Maria Regina and I thought I’d give you some highlights you might not catch in the paper.

First off, the Koalas came out victorious in the 25-14, 25-19, 25-11 match.

It looked like the Tigers had a pretty good hold on the game starting out with a 3-1 lead but the Koalas quickly closed it going up 11-6 and then 16-8.Tigers at Koalas 2

In the second game, the Tigers had a strong 8-4 lead but the serving of Courtney Belligina (right with teammate Kristen Knight) for the Koalas tied the game at 10 and the momentum changed sides for the rest of the game.

Game 3 was all Koala. They broke out to a 13-2 lead early on because of the serving of Maeve Koeltl and Kara Brennan. The Tigers would never recover.

Tigers at Koalas Kristen Knight had five kills, four aces and four digs for the Koalas. Teammate Martha Wislocki had six digs, five kills and three aces.

Deirdre O’Shea led the Tigers with five aces. Teammate Colleen Slattery (left) had three kills.

Don’t worry Rockland, I’ll be back on your side of the bridge on Thursday!
