And then there were 2… in each class.

So all the finals are set.
Tomorrow/Friday the Class A and Class C finals will be at Pelham High School.
Fox Lane will play John Jay at 5 p.m. followed by Westlake and Croton-Harmon at 7:30 p.m.
I’m covering the Class A game at 5 p.m. and I am going out on a limb and saying that I will finally see my first match go over 3 games. In fact, I think this match is the only one of the five finals where the underdog has a chance to win (sorry Arlington, Pelham, Croton-Harmon and Keio).
The Indians are peaking at the right time and are playing much better than the last time they faced Fox Lane and lost 3-0. The first match went 5 games and I’m expecting tomorrow to be much more like that.
Also, congratulations to Byram Hills and Ardsley for terrific seasons. You are simply the latest victims of playing in Class B, which is hands down the best class in the section this year. It’s possible that the four best teams in the entire section reside in Class B.
I just hope that with the Bobcats out, that their fans keep chiming in on the blog! I see the comments are flowing right now, but let’s keep them positive if possible.
I was at the match today and personally, I was very impressed with Hen Hud’s crowd. Maybe I was too busy running around talking to players and coaches after the match, but I didn’t notice anything inappropriate. I hope to see a similar outpouring from the “bleacher creatures” come Saturday night.
Now that it’s officially past midnight, Happy Halloween to everyone. After I wrap up here, I plan on braving the elements and playing some golf in the morning before watching some volleyball and eating plenty of candy of course in the evening. If you’re coming to any of the games this weekend, feel free to bring any extra Kit Kats, M&Ms, Skittles, Starburst, Milky Way, Hershey’s, etc…
