Can you dig it?

Volleyball in the Lower Hudson Valley

More driving…really?

November
5

Hey guys,

So I survived the driving, barely.

I just wanted to check in give you an update on the Section 9 matchups on Sunday.

Section 9 had byes going into the regional finals so they will be well rested and well practiced going into Sunday.

First, Class B and Hen Hud. Well, I will be at this game bright and early and thank goodness it’s not far away because I can’t even think about driving right now. (Though I do have to drive home)

So Red Hook is 18-1 going into the regional finals. They defeated James I. O’Neill in straight sets on Monday in the Section 9 final. Danielle Girard is a key hitter for Red Hook.

As for Westlake, they are facing Millbrook – who also had a bye going into the finals. Millbrook is 15-5 and won the sectional championship in five. From what I’m reading, Millbrook has some pretty solid hitting and Trish McGrath returned to their lineup just in time for playoffs after tearing her ACL.

Fox Lane will face off with Cornwall. They are 19-1 going into the finals. They defeated Goshen in straight sets to retain the sectional title for the fourth year in a row.

All these match ups look pretty interesting. SUNY New Paltz isn’t too far away so jump in your car (by Sunday I hope I’m back to loving my car) cheer on Section 1’s finest.
