Goodbye/All-Star section

I’m amazed to be writing this right now, but this is the last time I will post on this blog.

Earlier this morning, myself and some other esteemed colleagues were informed we were being laid off. For weeks we were told there were going to be huge cuts, but I guess I was naive in thinking it wouldn’t be me.

Anyway, thanks for all the support during the year. I will miss covering volleyball as well as high school sports in general. I would write more, but the news is still sinking in as you can imagine.

Also, stay tuned for the all-star sections which are coming out on the 12th, which will be the last thing published with my byline. If you disagree with any of the selections (I hope note, but you never know), that’s too bad because contacting me probably won’t help.

cant believe it. sorry to hear the news Alex Myers. we will always love you at hen hud. im sure you will find a better job and you’ll be happy. come visit some of us at one of our basketball games this year it would be amazing. good luck to you. if this is the last time we are in contact. WTFFF!!!! lohud you just fired greatness, no one at lohud can write as good as alex myers, what were you thinking this is an outrage.. your losing costumers…we want myers, the costumer is always right!!!,
Alex you can come to hen hud whenever you want, we hope to see you at our vball games next year, if u want to stop by a bball game this year your more then welcome.

alex myers, good luck with your future. im sure you will be able to find any job you want. you are the best at this job and you will be missed. hopefully one day you and the bleacher creatures meet up for one more time. WE LOVE YOU!!!

Alex Myers you are great. Seriously you’re blog was informative and excellent. I hope that you find a great job as I know you will. Anyone would be crazy not to hire you. Lo hud/Journal News you’re better than this cut the actual department that reports the news before you get rid of Alex Myers have you’re priorities straight.
