Although I am off, I’ll try to keep tabs on whatever volleyball action I can on Tuesday. (I need something to keep me occupied between frames during bowling)
To the naked eye, there does not appear to be any real must-see matches, but there are a few that could be interesting.
I’ve pegged Ardsley at Byram Hills as my “match of the night” since it will be the first game for the Panthers against a Bobcats team that has two very nice wins (Croton-Harmon, Ossining) under their belt. I’m going with Ardsley — either sweep or four games — but think the match should still be relatively close. I think if Byram takes a game from the Panthers it will be the first game out of the gate. Coach Dave Ponterio’s girls must be chomping at the bit to finally get out on the court for a match, while coach Jared Christian’s girls would probably love nothing more than to hand their Class B foes a season-opening loss.
My prediction: Ardsley wins in four, 21-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-22.
