It shouldn’t really come as a surprise, but Panas seniors Brigitte Burcescu and Allie Patriciello, the most dynamic duo in Panther history, have once again rewritten Panther history.
Burcescu and Patriciello broke single-season marks for kills and assists, respectively, over the weekend at the Panther Invitational hosted by Panas, but coach Joe Felipe could not confirm the information until Wednesday night.
Burcescu (pictured below, right) recorded 20 kills in a sweep of Hen Hud on Wednesday, which added to her single-season record, but also broke the 600-kill plateau for the year. The 6-foot-1 hitter, who broke her sister’s single-season mark last year with 526 kills, is now at 606 following Wednesday’s win.
Patriciello (pictured above, left), who also set Panas’ single-season mark last year, also eclipsed a personal milestone on Wednesday, surpassing 800 assists for her Panther career.
The setter, who recorded 763 assists last year, dished off 28 assists on Wednesday to bring her season total to 809. No word yet on where Patriciello will be attending college next season.
Panas will look to defend its Class A section and regional titles when the section tournament begins next Thursday, October 24.

HAVE A RECORD TO REPORT? TELL ME! I’m always looking for any news of school records — whether its for a single game, single season, or a career — I want to know! If you’re a coach or parent who knows of a current player who has broken a school record, or is approaching one, please let me know. I can’t highlight someone’s achievement if I don’t know about it. That goes for you too, coaches. If you’re nearing a milestone win — tell me. Don’t be bashful. Please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any and all information you have so I can either make a post, or make a note of it for the future.
COLLEGE-BOUND? TELL ME! While I have you, I might as well remind you that if you know of anyone (yourself, included) who has made a college commitment, please let me know immediately. The commitment doesn’t need to be to a D-I university, nor does the player have to plan to play volleyball in college, it can be for academics; I still want to know. If you know of any records, college commits or any other noteworthy information, please e-mail me.
