Blind Brook probably doesn’t like sharing, at least when it comes to league championships.
After returning most of last year’s undefeated league-championship squad, the Trojans (15-1) are in position to retain sole possession of their crown following Saturday’s 25-10, 20-25, 25-11, 25-14 win over Fox Lane.
Lindsey Kim had a match-high 19 kills to go with 19 digs for the Trojans, who avenged an early-season loss to the Foxes.
Blind Brook, which is 5-1 in the league, must win both its matches against Horace Greeley (8-5 overall, 4-2 league) next week to remain sole league champion.
The Foxes (8-6 overall, 5-2 league) have one more match remaining with Harrison, which serves as an additional wrench in the league standings.
Blind Brook wins with a sweep of Horace Greeley or a split with Horace Greeley and a Fox Lane loss.
If the Trojans split with the Quakers and the Foxes win, Blind Brook and Fox Lane will be co-champions.

LOOK AHEAD: Don’t forget, as per usual with Sundays, I’ll be announcing my “Player of the Week,” as well posting my new weekly team rankings. If you haven’t already, check out the league champions post, which shows all of the clinched winners, as well as the scenarios for all remaining leagues up in the air. I’ll try and add results from the John Jay tournament, North Rockland “Volley for the Cure”, and Putnam Valley fundraisers tomorrow, as well.
My main focus (outside of POTW and rankings) will be trying to figure out mock seeds for the Section 1 tournament on Sunday, as well. Those will probably be up later in the day, since it requires quite a bit of math and research.
There will be plenty of fresh material coming your way over the next month. Between the days leading up to sections, all the way through Glens Falls, there will be no short supply of volleyball info on this blog. Keep checking, and spread the word!
