There are no events on the Section 1 schedule for Sunday, but I’m sure fans and team members of the five sectional-championship squads will be interested to see what happens out of Section 9.
Champions in Classes AA-C crowned on Sunday will represent Section 9 in the state regional semifinals against the Section 4 representatives. The winner of that semifinal will play our Section 1 representatives for a spot at the Glens Falls Civic Center, home of the state semifinals.
Below is the complete schedule for the 2013 Section 9 volleyball championships. All matches will be played at SUNY New Paltz, and you can follow @PJSports for the most recent updates. I’ll retweet throughout the day so that those of you without Twitter can still see my feed in the righthand column of the blog.
As you’ll see from the slate, matches will be running pretty much all day, so if you have nothing to do today and/or if you just love volleyball, why not take a trip to New Paltz? No, I will not be attending. I need to recharge my batteries after this week.
Even though we — meaning Section 1 — have no volleyball until November 9, I will keep the blog updated with recaps from the full section tournament and of course, the upcoming regional tournament schedule. I have posted new team rankings on the home page; the detailed rankings post may be up later, but my list (which can be found on the home page) is up now.
