ARDSLEY — Two Panther greats were recognized Tuesday, as former volleyball players Arielle Misrok and Antoinette “Toni” Pilla were inducted into the school’s “Wall of Fame” last night.
A tradition that was started by the school’s student council in 1985-86, students are inducted for success in academics, athletics, leadership and/or the arts. Both players met the athletic requirements of being at least an all-county or all-section selection.
Misrok (pictured right), a libero, was inducted by current Panther and possible future “Wall of Fame” inductee Carolyn Chu. The former captain, who is currently attending Dickinson College, was joined by her family at the induction ceremony. Misrok will be in contention for a starting role with the Red Devils next year after a successful rookie campaign.
Pilla, a basketball standout at Ardsley, as well, was unable to attend the ceremony. The do-it-all dynamo on the volleyball court and all-state guard on the basketball court continued her hoops career at Caldwell College. Pilla’s Coungars play Post University tonight at 6 p.m. A link to live stats of the game can be found on the team’s schedule page.
