After everything she accomplished last year, Blind Brook’s Lindsey Kim certainly earned her Conference III player of the year selection. Tagged as one of the elusive “Elite Seven” during this year’s season preview, expectations were high for the Trojans senior.
It didn’t take long for her to deliver.
Kim (pictured right) opened the season with a triple-double performance of 15 kills, 11 aces and 10 digs in a romping of Hastings, then added a 16-kill, 14-dig performance in a sweep of Pleasantville later in the week to grab the first player of the week honors of this season.
The Journal News will name a new player of the week each Sunday. Fans and players can nominate hopefuls via email or Twitter by tagging me (@Zacchio_LoHud) and using the hashtag #POTW.
List the performance(s) you felt were worthy of their selection and I will consider all nominees, along with a list of players I took note of during the week. Please submit all nominations by Saturday night, so that I can properly prepare the post on Sunday.
Since I was on Boulders duty much of this week, the player of the week post and rankings will go up later than intended. Going forward, I’m looking to have both up each morning or afternoon. Congratulations Lindsey, and best of luck to future hopefuls.
