Thanks to someone putting a threatening phone call into Hendrick Hudson High School yesterday, a massive wrench was thrown into our pot for the Section 1 volleyball tournament schedule. Postponed from yesterday, Hen Hud will now play at Ardsley today at 4:15 p.m. in the Class B semifinals.
Since I am off, my colleague Chad Jennings — yes, that Chad Jennings — will be covering No. 3 Clarkstown South at No. 2 Mahopac, a Class AA semifinal. I had originally planned to either tag along just to watch or go to the Panas-John Jay match, but with this reschedule, I don’t know how you pass up Hen Hud-Ardsley. There’s just too much of a storyline with it. Plus, I owe it to “Mr. Priceless” (yes, that’s the name I’ve informally dubbed him) to go; especially if he’s wearing the shirt again.
Here is the complete schedule, along with the link to my pre-tournament predictions:
Section 1 tournament
No. 4 Scarsdale at No. 1 Suffern, 5 p.m.
No. 3 Clarkstown South at No. 2 Mahopac, 4:30 p.m.
No. 5 Ursuline at No. 1 Yorktown, 4:30 p.m.
No. 3 Panas at No. 2 John Jay, 4:30 p.m.
No. 5 Hen Hud at No. 1 Ardsley, 4:15 p.m.
No. 4 Tuckahoe at No. 1 Haldane, 5:30 p.m.
No. 3 Hamilton at No. 2 Keio, 4:30 p.m.
#Zacketology record for this year’s tournament: 41-3
#ThrowbackThursday: Another song I find hard to believe is over a decade old, “I Believe In A Thing Called Love,” by The Darkness was the first song I actually ever sang (not rapped) during karaoke. Yes, there were high notes. Yes, there is video (somewhere). No, I will not post it. 🙂 Enjoy the song, and rock out!
