The No. 3 North Rockland Red Raiders will take on the No. 2 Carmel Rams in a semifinal on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

The No. 9 Clarkstown North Rams will take on the No. 1 Suffern Mounties at the same time.

Changes to pool play

Byram Hills and Eastchester apparently swapped seeds sometime after the seeding meeting took place on Wednesday night. Byram Hills is now the sixth seed and Eastchester is the fifth.

This means Byram Hills is going to Pelham tomorrow for pool play, and Eastchester is going to Pearl River.

Rye eliminated

Dover beat Rye 3-0, so the No. 9 Garnets are done and the Dragons will go to Pelham tomorrow for pool play.

Brewster eliminates Lakeland

Class A No. 8 Brewster beat No. 9 Lakeland to advance to Hen Hud tomorrow for pool play.

The Bears won 25-22, 17-25, 29-27, 25-18. They were led by Alisa Didio with nine aces, six kills and 18 digs. Gina Morra had 26 assists and 15 digs.

Put Valley eliminated

Lourdes won the Class B play-in game against Putnam Valley today, 3-1.

Krystal Miranda had 17 assists and 24 digs for Putnam Valley in the 25-10, 19-25, 25-21, 25-15 loss.

No. 7 Lourdes will enter the pool hosted by No. 2 Pearl River tomorrow at 2 p.m., facing the Pirates, No. 4 Sleepy Hollow, and No. 5 [...]

Playoff seeds determined

There were a few surprises, like Ardsley ending up with the third seed in Class B after putting up an identical league record as first seed Pelham and splitting regular season games with the Pelicans. Pearl River took the second seed. Both Pearl River and Pelham played more games than Ardsley this season, [...]

Suffern and Haldane finish undefeated

Suffern beat Clarkstown South yesterday to finish the regular season 17-0.  Haldane beat Ardsley 3-0 to finish 18-0.  Hen Hud can finish undefeated with a win over Pelham later today.

Then after that match the coaches get together to figure out the seeding and matchups for the playoffs.  All the details will be in tomorrow’s paper.

Like Erin before me, I’m making a career change, and that means I won’t be making it through the volleyball playoffs.  My final day at the Journal News is next Tuesday, which, I believe, is the second round of sectionals.

Suffern shocks North Rockland, world

It seems like all the good Westchester matches were right at the beginning of the season, when I was covering Rockland only. The first Pelham-Ardsley match; Westlake vs. Pelham, Ardsley, and Byram; both Fox Lane-John Jay matches, etc.
